The Department of Gastrointestinal Surgery at Sri Aurobindo Seva Kendra (An EEDF Medicare Centre) provides comprehensive surgical care for diseases of the digestive system. The department specialises in the diagnosis and surgical management of conditions affecting the oesophagus, stomach, intestines, liver, gallbladder, pancreas, and colorectal region.
Our gastrointestinal surgeons perform both elective and emergency abdominal surgeries, with a strong focus on patient safety, precision, and optimal recovery outcomes. Wherever clinically appropriate, minimally invasive (laparoscopic) techniques are employed to reduce post-operative pain, minimise hospital stay, and enable faster return to daily activities.
Our surgical services include: Appendectomy, Cholecystectomy (Gallbladder surgery), Hernia repair, Surgeries for intestinal obstruction, Colorectal surgeries, and Surgery for liver, pancreas, and biliary tract disorders.
The department works in close coordination with Gastroenterology, Anaesthesiology, ICU, Radiology, and Internal Medicine teams to ensure seamless pre-operative evaluation, surgical care, and post-operative monitoring, especially for high-risk and emergency cases.
